Acne Tip # 5

Acne Tips #5

Today we are ready to talk about the fifth tip in our series of acne tips. You see, one thing you may not be considering when it comes to your acne problem is your hair. That brings us right up to the next tip.

Tip #5 – Consider Your Hair Care

Yes, your hair care actually has quite a bit to do with acne. Many people have acne that occurs around the hairline. This type of acne is actually caused by the fatty acids and sebum that the scalp generates. If you don’t take care of your hair properly these fatty acids and sebum can actually migrate onto your face as well. Once they get onto your face, your pores can get clogged up, which can lead to acne breakouts. This is all especially true with people who have longer hair that is long enough to touch the face.

Even if you have extra oily hair there is a way that you can control this problem. You see the key here is to make sure that you shampoo your hair on a regular basis. In fact, some people may even have to resort to washing their hair every single day to get keep the problem at bay.

If you are trying to cut down on the fatty acids and sebum in your scalp, you may want to go with a shampoo that is developed specifically for people who have oily hair. Even if you don’t have oily hair, this type of shampoo can help to get the sebum product on your scalp under control to prevent that acne around your scalp line.

Hair Care Products

Not only do you need to be sure to wash your hair more often if you are fighting acne, but you also need to be careful when you are using hair care products as well. Many hair care products can clog up your pores if they get on your face, leading to acne breakouts. Both hairspray and gels for your hair can cause you problems. While it is probably best to use as little of these products as possible, more than likely you are not totally going to abandon them, so, use them with care.

After you spray your hair with hairspray, be sure to wash your face to make sure there is no hairspray on your face that will clog up your pores. If you use gel in your hair, make sure you don’t get it on your face and try to keep any hair that has been gelled off your face as well.

So, just taking the time to wash your hair more frequently and watching what hair care products you use can help you fight off acne. Yes, these are simple tips; however, they are extremely important if you want to win your battle with the acne problem.
