Acne Tips #2

Acne Tips  #2

In the last email part of this 7 day series, we talked about how important it is to stop washing your face with regular soap. Of course we went on to talk about how to keep your face clean in a way that will prevent acne as well. Hopefully you are now using this simple tip in your life to help in your battle with acne.

Today we want to add another tip for you to consider and add to your life.

Tip #2 – Start Eating a Healthy Diet

For years there has been a debate on whether or not food was linked to outbreaks of acne. Some people felt that greasy foods and chocolates would contribute to breakouts; however, later professionals said that food is not really directly connected to your acne problems. So, you’ve probably heard people speak from both sides of the debate, and you probably are wondering if what you eat really will affect the condition of your acne problem.

While eating foods that are bad probably don’t directly cause acne problems, you need to understand that what you put in your body is going to affect your health, including the health of your skin. Your diet affects many aspects of your health, so why wouldn’t it affect your skin? Greasy foods, fatty foods, and foods high in sugar all can have a negative impact on your health, so it only stands to reason that these bad foods can have an indirect affect on your skin as well.

So, since food really can have an affect on your skin, you need to clean up your eating habits if you want to prevent and treat your problem with acne. Foods high in fat, sugar, and refined carbs can all be damaging to the health of your skin.

You see, when you eat these kinds of foods on a regular basis, it can result in a surge of insulin in your body. This can go on to cause a condition in which the increase of insulin in the body causes there male hormones to be overproduced. These male hormones often cause the body to produce more sebum than usual, which leads to more of your pores getting clogged up, which then leads on to more acne breakouts.

Saturated fats can definitely be bad for your skin as well. For years doctors have been warning people of the bad affects of saturated and trans fats. Saturated fats can actually weaken your immune system. This can promote inflammation throughout the body, including the skin. Often the oil production level is raised as well, which can bring on more outbreaks of acne.

Of course we need to point out that not all the oils are going to be bad for you. Some oils are even great for your skin. Some oils that you should add to your diet in order to promote healthy skin include olive oil, fish oil, and flax oil. Actually flax oil is especially recommended for skin that is glowing and healthy.

There are other great foods that you should add to your diet to promote healthy skin too. Many fruits and vegetables are filled with great vitamins and minerals that are essential to having healthy skin. Antioxidants are also found in fruits and vegetables, and they help to cut down the inflammation inside the body. Since vitamins and minerals are so important to your skin’s health, the best way that you can fight acne with food is to make sure that you eat a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and essential fatty acids.
